What is Eleventh Hour Ministry

Some time back, while studying through the gospel of Matthew, I read the "Parable of the Landowner" in a different light. As I was reading, I realized that God was revealing a little something about Himself that was critical for all of us. First, God (pictured as the landowner in the parable) was out early hiring laborers. He also was out often. Finally, He hired all of the laborers that were willing. (Yes, these are the "points" of a sermon.) What gripped me was how God, by His grace was not growing weary of calling laborers to Himself. He even went out at the eleventh hour of the day to hire those who were willing.

I know a lot of people who are in their eleventh hour of life. It is good to have it affirmed that God has not given up on people...even those who have rejected Him and His love for years. It also is a good and sobering reminder to me to keep in mind that God uses His church to as agents of reconciliation. In other words...if God is into an "eleventh hour ministry"...then so are we as His church! So...eleventh hour ministry it is!
