- I am a native of South Carolina. After serving in the Army for almost seven years (following High School), I tried my hand at a number of things. I did the "corporate" thing...and was a police officer for a while. Now, I serve as a pastor. It doesn't seem that glamorous...but I have the coolest "job" in the world. I have the privilege and opportunity to talk with people every day about how God loves them and has a plan for their lives. I am also the husband of Jodi for the last twenty years. Sorry I'm late, I had a busy two days and a couple of more before me.
Yes! It must go from "in to out" and start with the gospel or we will labor in vain.
While we may have to appear to work from social to gospel from time to time, our motivation must be centered on Christ. For example, if someone is wet, tired and hungry, they cannot listen until we can get them dry, rested and fed. This works with James 2:15-16 as the "quick and dirty" reference.
